It's very difficult to adapt a diet to our daily life. A lot of diets do not work because they're too rigorous, radical, boring and/or severe. In addition, most people expect good results in just 1-2 weeks. Anxiety increases as a result of the efforts and sacrifices made and people become very fed up, and they give up.
Normally, people have a diet rich in simple carbohydrates, without inadequate proteins and lipids. In this way, the sugar levels in the blood increase, but our body 'doesn't like' high sugar contents in the blood, and sugar quickly goes from the bloodstream into the cells. The effect is that soon we feel hungry again.
When diets are rich in animal proteins from meat, poultry, fish, eggs, dairy products, they're naturally associated to animal fat. Therefore, soon they'll provoke abnormal amount of lipids, hunger and renal overload, and may cause renal failure.
Most countries that study ways to avoid overweight, like Australia, Finland, Spain, France, USA and Canada, agree that main priority is correcting the bad consuming habits and implementing a regular practice of exercise and physical activity. The USA also state that a psychological accompaniment is vital to help the patient to feed in the motivation needed to reach the desired weight.
